Four Arnold students have received letters of commendation on their GCSE results. Michael Phipps of Year 11 was amongst the highest achieving candidates in this year's iGCSE maths examinations, according to Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body, even though he took the exam a year early! The results, issued this month, show that out of 19,213 candidates, Michael achieved one of the highest overall marks.
Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel’s Managing Director, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams. We send our congratulations to Michael”.
Not to be outdone, Christopher Barrett, Abigail Lucas and Eleesia Kilgallon were amongst the highest achieving candidates in the Edexcel GCSE Spanish examination. All three achieved the highest overall marks out of 15,756 candidates.
Mr Hughes, added his congratulations at a recent assembly by saying how the whole school community is proud of these outstandingly successful students.
