Superdoctors - one small step

Anyone who was lucky enough to watch 'Superdoctors - one small step' on BBC TV last week could not have failed to be impressed by Old Arnoldian Dr Steve Mannion, the star of the programme. Certainly, presenter Robert Winston was as he explained how Steve had developed simple techniques for treating patients in Malawi, that would leave surgeons in the developed West amazed. In particular his development of a little known and scarcely used physiotherapy treatment for club foot, called the Ponseti treatment, which has proved to be very successful, and which has led to a major rethink of the way in which this problem is treated world-wide.

It was certainly a programme that should inspire young Arnoldians and give many others much pride. If you would like to help Steve in his work, his charity Feet First is a good starting point.
