Year 9 netballers in fine form

Our Year 9 netballers had a close match with Lytham High School before Christmas, winning 16 - 14, and they continued this winning streak this week with a hard fought match against a strong Garstang side.

Trailing 4 - 3 at half time, the girls worked hard to reverse the score in the second half. Emily Adams went to goalkeeper after the break and made several crucial interceptions to prevent Garstang from scoring. Arnold took the lead early on in the second half and managed to hold out for an 8 - 7 victory.

Their second match of the night against St Aidan's saw strong performances from shooters, Sophie Glassock and Courtney Spector. They were supported by Abby Taylor and Rebecca Pearson in attack and their fine play gave Arnold a 6 - 0 lead at half time. Rebekah Aspin, Hannah Armfield and Olivia Moore in defence prevented Garstang from scoring and with the Arnold attack shooting another seven goals in the second half the team ran out comfortable winners 13 - 0.
