The Naval Section of the CCF enables cadets to take part in a wide range of activities both ashore and afloat. Each autumn, a programme of camps and courses is issued by our HQ in Portsmouth for the following year. Cadets from all three services can apply for all courses and many of our Army and Air Force cadets have thoroughly enjoyed activities organised by the RN.
Local activities include field days at Southport Sailing Centre and the use of our 34ft motor launch on Windermere.

Two of the most popular camps are held in H.M.S. EXCELLENT at Portsmouth (accommodated in H.M.S. BRISTOL, a 5000 ton Destroyer), and at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.
Every second year, a major expedition is organised and cadets from all over the UK take part. In 2004, Philip Hardisty from the RAF section spent several weeks on the RN exped around Vancouver, and the 2006 destination has recently been announced as Northern Spain. This will involve crossing the Bay of Biscay under sail!
In 2005, Arnold cadets attended both main camps and a variety of specialised courses including; Ocean Diving, Royal Marines arduous training, sports course, powerboat course and sailing in the English Channel in a 38ft cruising yacht.
