Rules: You may use some or all of the given numbers to make the challenge number using any of the following symbols: (+- /×)
You may use each symbol any number of times.
You can only use each number once.
You do not have to use all the numbers.
Example: Make 470 using 50, 8,5,4,2,1.
You should know that 5 × 9 = 45,
so 50 × 9 = 450
is a good starting point.
Now all that you need to do is to make 9 which could be 5 + 4 or 8 + 1 and then add 20.
Therefore use 8 + 1 for the 9
and 5 × 4 for the 20.
Answer: 50×(8+1) + 5×4
= 50 × 9 + 20
= 450 + 20
= 470
Now try this one:
Make 474 using 100, 1, 2, 5, 7, 8.
How many different ways can you do it?
