Garden Party Date
The local BLESMA Home recently extended an invitation to the CCF to visit their garden party which we were delighted to accept. Twelve senior NCOs from the three service sections went along to meet veterans from the armed services as party of the Veterans\' Week celebrations.
The experience was a very moving one for the cadets. They quickly found themselves deep in conversation with the veterans, many of whom had been a similar age to our students at the time they were fighting for their country.
On the left below, we see the senior cadets with the Vice Chairman of Governors and former High Sheriff of Lancashire, Jimmy Armfield, OBE, DL and Brigadier Jonathan Powe, OBE, the Brigade Commander of 42 (NW) Brigade. On the right we see cadets chatting to a local ex-serviceman.
