It all adds up
Mr Bell has done his usual sterling job this year with the UK Mathematical Challenge Competitions. In the Senior Maths Challenge back in the Autumn Term we received 2 Gold, 8 Silver and 19 Bronze awards and in the Intermediate Challenge last term Arnold students received a further 9 Gold, 23 Silver and 33 Bronze awards with 6 students qualifying for the follow up rounds.
We recently received the results from the Junior Maths Challenge, which were 9 Gold, 26 Silver and 31 Bronze meaning that 66 students won awards in total. This is quite an achievement given that over 240,000 people took part nationally.
Gold awards in the Lower School went to Eleni Cullen, Alex Casey, Oliver Hopkins, Tejas Parekh, Issa Patel, Alex Boothman, Andrew Alexander, Ahmed Ahmed and Katie Evinson.
In total 349 Arnoldians have taken part this year with very nearly half of them winning certificates and a total of 20 Gold, 57 Silver and 83 Bronze awards coming our way. The best result was from Andrew Nelson who qualified for this year's British Mathematical Olympiad.
