Tom Hart debuts for Fylde 1st XV
The link with Fylde RFC grows ever closer with Josh Beaumont making his full senior debut for Fylde 2nd XV last weekend in a match that also featured last year’s 1st XV captain, Sam Cole, and other former pupils, Nick Campbell and Seb Jones.
Another old boy, Tom Hart, played once again for Fylde 1st XV, as they beat Leicester Lions in an entertaining encounter at the Woodlands. Tom played the whole of the second half as Fylde won by 34-20. Coming on as a replacement in the 39th minute following an injury to Taylor Welch, Tom took Welch's position on the right wing. He played very well and did not look out of place at National League level, tackling soundly and making some useful runs. One break took him 40m down the right touchline and it looked as though he would score his first try at senior level but he was forced into touch in the very corner. The photos below show him beating the accomplished Gareth Collins, top try scorer in the division, before being tackled near the try line.
