CCF on Parade
The school CCF contingent was delighted to be asked to support the St George's Day celebrations in Lytham St Annes on Friday and proud to take part in the parade from Lytham Green to the main square behind the Band of the King's Division. Over 50 cadets and staff formed the largest uniformed presence and were warmly congratulated by Major-General Sir Evelyn Webb-Carter, Chief Executive of the Army Benevolent Fund.
Organised by Arnold parent Mr David Haythornthwaite, the St George's Day Festival is intended to give the community an opportunity to celebrate our heritage and at the same time raise money for charity. We wish him every success in this extremely worthwhile venture.
On 2.30pm on Sunday the acclaimed Arnold Swing Band will be "doing their bit" to support the festival by playing several of their best known numbers.
