PFA Events from the Autumn Term
The Parents' & Friends' Association had a busy Autumn Term. The "New to You Sale" started the ball rolling with an unprecedented amount of uniform available for the sale.
Our ever popular Halloween party filled the Junior School hall with witches, monsters and ghouls as children and adults alike dressed up to party. They enjoyed face painting and party games as well as a delicious feast and helped the entertainer turn Mrs Smith into an Egyptian mummy! Great fun was had by all.
The Christmas Fayre turned out to be a great start to the busy Christmas Season and proved once again to be one of our most popular events. Highlights included Santa coming to see us from the North Pole; many of our children turned out with letters ready to give him. Our Junior School Choir mesmerised everyone with their wonderful singing and entertained us throughout the afternoon. We were also treated to a set from 'Soul Suite', our talented singers and musicians from the Senior School. There was a vast array of children's stalls which proved very popular including tin can alley, darts, ceramic painting, chocolate tombola and cake stalls. We would like to thank Mr Chandler and Mrs Fielder and all the parents and friends who helped out and supported this year's Fayre.
Our last event of the Christmas Term was the Christmas Party Night. This year parents and friends partied the night away to the sounds of rat pack swing, the 1980s and the Blues Brothers at the DeVere Hotel. This event provides the opportunity for parents from the Junior School and the Senior School to get together socially and have a great night out. This year we were particularly fortunate to be joined by Mr Chandler and The Senior School Girls' Choir. The girls sang beautifully during our reception drinks and set a wonderful Christmas note to our evening. Our particular thanks go to the girls for giving up their Saturday evening to entertain us.
This year we are delighted that we have been able to fund amongst other things: new basketball strip and equipment, business students to enter the Young Enterprise scheme, sports fitness training equipment, Flip cameras for the English Department, a full day’s workshop for the Drama Department and new equipment for The Monllor Fitness Centre. In the Junior School we been able to assist in the development of the area outside the Year 1 and Reception classrooms, provide a whole new dress up activity theme for the Infant School, provide the Kindergarten with a turtle bus and multicultural learning themes. All of this is from funds raised at our events. We are very fortunate at Arnold that our parents and staff always support these events.
