It may not have been December '63, but certainly a lot of faces from the late 70's and early 80's were present at the reunion to celebrate 30 years of girls at Arnold. As you might expect when a lot of Old Arnoldians meet for the first time in many years there was a lot of 'Oh my ....no! It's....' and 'What are you doing now?' to be heard in the Paradise Room at the Pleasure beach.
President of the OA's Mike Brennand made it clear in his welcome that this was an informal fun occasion for friends to meet up before the 'serious' business of the matches to be played against school on Sunday.
With a few current and some ex members of staff present it proved to be a night of story telling and memories sparked by the recognition of a face or the recollection of a voice.
The staff often huddling in groups in an effort to put names to the faces!
With musical entertainment provided by Ian Hooper the party went on late into the night and it is yet to be seen if some of the revellers are at the games on Sunday!
This was an occasion that truly reflected all that is great about Arnold. The warmth shown for the school by all those attending was a joy to see for those of us still working there, and long may it continue. For those of you who missed it, put the date in your diary because this promises to be one of the 'not to miss' functions of the year.
