‘New To You’

Wednesday 10th September 2008  2.30pm - 4.30pm in the Junior School Hall

In response to the questionnaire carried out by the Arnold Parents' & Friends' Association it was agreed to establish ‘New To You' to enable parents to buy and sell good quality second-hand uniform.

‘New To You' is run on a voluntary basis, so to help with the smooth running of ‘New To You' please would parents wishing to sell items of uniform bear in mind the following:

Uniform should be brought to the Junior School foyer between 8.00 am and 8.45 am on Monday 8th September, Tuesday 9th September and Wednesday 10th September  and also on the Tuesday afternoon between 3.15 pm and 3.45pm.

The uniform will only be accepted on the following basis:

1. Items must be in good re-sale condition - they should not be faded or suffering from wear and tear or in need of any repairs (missing buttons, unstitched hems, holes etc).

2. Items must be ready for sale - that is, washed or dry-cleaned, pressed and presentable.

Please also note that:

1. All uniform must have attached by a safety pin a ‘New To You' label, correctly filled in. One label should be on each item of clothing. All items should be put together in a bag and sealed. Sellers should indicate whether they wish uniform that is not sold on the above date to be returned and collected by them.  This can only be done in the Junior School foyer on Thursday 11th September from 8.00 am to 8.45 am and from 3.15 pm to 4 pm.

2. Only items that are current school uniform and from the school shop will be accepted (no footwear please). Branded sports equipment will also be accepted.

‘New To You' prices are loosely based on 60% of the retail price. Please price your items from the price list attached.  One third of the sale price is deducted from the label price and goes to Parents' and Friends' Association funds. Payment is by cash or cheque only.  After the sale, a cheque for the value of any items sold will be sent home, usually via your child.

The ‘New To You' scheme is run by volunteers who give up their time to benefit both parents and the PFA funds which in turn will benefit the children. Your co-operation in following the procedures outlined above will greatly aid the smooth running of ‘New To You'.  Every article is sold as seen and whilst all care will be taken the PFA cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to any items.
