Originally from the South, I worked in the County Courts and for Hilingdon Borough Library Service until 1990. I moved to Lytham along with my young family when my husband was transferred to BAe Warton. I felt very fortunate to be offered the job as Librarian at such an excellent school. I thoroughly enjoy my work, as there is never a dull moment in the Library! It is one of the busiest places in school, and my intention is to keep it that way!
The Library is the base for the Rainbow reading scheme, which I developed along with the English Department, and a place to 'work, rest and play'! I have the privileged opportunity to get to know all the pupils in school from their very first week, and enjoy interacting with them - often playing the role of 'mum' - hearing about all their little troubles and successes! IĀ aim to make the Library a useful and interesting place to be, working with the pupils to create this.
I am a member of the school choir, and have assisted in several school theatrical productions. Outside school I am a member of Lytham Amateur Operatic Society, and have successfully persuaded several pupils to join the youth section, where they have had tremendous fun! Both my daughters attended Arnold and have benefited so much from being here.
