Membership of the Association
At the 2005 Annual General Meeting of the Old Arnoldians Association, new Rules for the Association were adopted.
The main changes centred round Rule 2. Objects.
• As from 3rd December 2005, ALL former pupils of the School will AUTOMATICALLY become MEMBERS of the ASSOCIATION on leaving School and will REMAIN as members for LIFE or such time as they resign or fail to notify the Association of their up to date name and address.
• NO SUBSCRIPTION will be payable for membership of the Association.
• LIFE and FULLY PAID UP (as at 31st October 2005) members of the Association shall continue to receive the Old Arnoldian Magazine in “hard copy”.
• ALL other members shall be able to obtain a copy of the Old Arnoldian Magazine by downloading a copy from Arnoldians Online.
At a stroke, the membership of the Old Arnoldians Association jumped from 1880 LIFE and FULLY PAID UP members to 10265 MEMBERS, before dropping to 2780 in the same sentence as 7500 (approx.) former pupils have failed to notify the OAA of their up to date address!
The Association also agreed that all changes of name and address should be maintained by the Foundation Secretary at School on behalf of the Honorary Secretary and that Arnoldians Online be the only Database used by the Association.
This is to encourage those Members (8,200 approx.) to register with Arnoldians Online and update their current address. For those without access to a computer, the Foundation Secretary would update the records.
So if you are one of the 8,200 reading this page on the School Website, please register with Arnoldians Online today and update your address and other personal details. The Foundation Office will gladly help you – either on the Internet or the phone.
We have only put 4,500 of the 8,200 names on the “Lost Arnoldians – List B” page so if you recognise a name or two, please ask them to register.
