It must have been a strange experience for Mr Kirkham when he was appointed to the Arnold Chemistry Department having been Head Boy at local rivals King Edward VII School!
A talented sportsman he became a 1st XV player at Fylde Rugby Club. After university he spent four years in sales/marketing for a large American computer company before joining Arnold in 1976 on a temporary basis! Mr Kirkham has run the Keep Fat club for many years and now claims that he only does weight training to keep his chest ahead of his stomach!
