National Year of Reading

Words are at the heart of everything and the National Year of Reading is a celebration of words in every form.  We will again be participating in this national event with a whole range of activities, the first of which is led by our Librarian, Mrs Julie Darkins, who invites pupils to take part in the Teen Titles quiz.

Teen Titles is a full-colour book review magazine packed with reviews and author interviews written by teenagers for teenagers. It aims to promote reading and literacy in a fun way that will appeal to all young people. All competition entries will be forwarded to the magazine and hopefully we will repeat last year's success when Carl Bamford took the prize.

The following pupils all had their book reviews published in Teen Titles Magazine this term:

Daniel Woods 7N Charles Kneale-Kaye 7N Samara Henry-Riding 7M Henry Spracklen 7M Dan Lee 7L

Claire Thistlethwaite 7L Alex Thornley 7L Shannon Wilkinson 7L

Below are some of the pupil reviews.
