2nd Team triumph
Win at Westholme not the best

Junior Hockey v Westholme

Our U11 and U10 hockey teams travelled to Witton Park, Blackburn on Monday afternoon to play against Westholme School.

After an enjoyable journey the girls started to warm up for the matches and the heavens opened! However, this did not put the girls off, and although this was Westholme's first game of the season, Arnold had to play well in both games to beat spirited opposition.

In the U11 game Arnold's midfield put together some fine passing moves and this led to five goals being scored in the first half. The second half was closer and two further Arnold goals and one Westholme strike led to a final score of:

Arnold 7 Westholme 1

Arnold's goal scorers were Victoria Matthews (2), Grace Morris (2), Sophie Greener (2) and Victoria Stanforth (1).

In the U10 game captain, Milli Kenworthy, played superbly to dominate the midfield. Three first half goals and a further two second half strikes followed by a late Westholme reply led to a final score of:

Arnold 5 Westholme 1

Arnold's goal scorers were Milli Kenworthy (2) and Cammie Spector (3). This was a pleasing result as this was the first game for our U10 team and four of the girls played in their first ever match for the school.

A special mention must also go to Westholme as they played with real enthusiasm and all of the staff there agreed that both sets of players had gained a lot from their afternoon of hockey. Well played everybody!
