Junior Football v King Edward & Queen Mary
On Friday afternoon, our Year 6 ‘B’ and ‘C’ 7-a-side football teams played away matches against King Edward and Queen Mary School in Lytham. The weather was perfect for football and the afternoon turned out to be a very enjoyable one.
All fourteen of our boys thoroughly enjoyed representing our school and played their best in two very close contests. Both our goalkeepers – Liam Collinson and Sam Ingham-Gore - played very well, making some fine saves. In the ‘B’ team, both Harvey Ross and Ben Webster created good chances and Thomas and Samuel Matthews played very well. In the’C’ team, credit must go to Mark Bricklebank for his tireless running and to Richard Leman for his effort and determination. In the end, both games were lost by the odd goal, but the boys had a splendid afternoon and now look forward to the next match.
Final scores: ‘B’ team - King Edward & Queen Mary 2 Arnold 1, 'C' team - King Edward & Queen Mary 1 Arnold 0
Well played boys!
