Julian joined Arnold in 2005 from Blundell's School where he was Assistant Director of Music. He attended St Dunstan's College, London and went on to study music at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Julian's interests include sound recording and musical production, sailing and walking; he is also a first class organist. He is married to Jennifer, a journalist with the BBC.
Julian quickly made a significant contribution to Arnold music. This will have been evident to those who were fortunate enough to attend the school's first major Swing Band Concert and the magnificent performances of the Mozart Requiem and Carmina Burana.
To neatly follow these achievements, the Music Department facilities were completely refurbished during Summer 2006 to create a much larger performance area, recording studio and other improvements. The official opening was performed by OA and Pet Shop Boy, Chris Lowe, in September of that year. Julian led the first overseas tour of the Girls' Choir to Venice in December 2007.
