Hailing from Nottinghamshire and having studied for different periods at both Roses universities, I took my first teaching position as English Master at Nottingham High School, before heading my first department at Shropshire's Wrekin College in the late 1990s. After five enjoyable years of boarding/day school life, my family and I moved to the Fylde coast where I took my current post as Head of English from 2003.

Interests away from the classroom comprise tennis for Fulwood TC in the Fylde League, football (don't mention Nottingham Forest's fortunes!), the theatre and cookery, whilst time at home is primarily occupied by my three children, all of whom attend Arnold Junior School. At Arnold I run the boys' tennis teams and practices during the Summer Term as well as having oversight for the induction of newly-qualified staff and Arnold's student teachers.
