Book early

The library has a lunchtime club for pupils who wish to work towards achieving a certificate and badge qualifying them as a School Library Assistant

They come to the library at least one lunchtime a week on nominated days, and assist with the many duties involved with running a library. These include: operating the issue desk to issue and return books; adding new titles to the library database; searching the computer too find information required by other pupils; backing and labelling new stock; keeping the shelves tidy and replacing returned books; creating displays and advertising materials; and helping others in operating the library computers, CD-ROMs and internet in the search for information.

Library assistants are always kept very busy, they enjoy the work and about twelve Year 7 pupils receive their certificates. However, there is always a massive demand and a waiting list, so it is first come first served.

We look forward to seeing you in the library, if not to join our team, then to simply read in quiet and pleasant surroundings.
