Four seasons and a hail storm
The heavy overnight rain soon cleared and the sun shone on the three groups as they set off walking and canoeing.
I went with group A on a walk to the summit of Castle Cragg, taking in some of the most stunning views in the Lakes. It was blowing a gale on top of the Cragg as we enjoyed chocolate and hot ribena. As we began our descent a hail storm moved its way down the valley and pelted us with chunks of ice. Five minutes later it had gone and the sun was out again.
After lunch it was to the gorge; swollen by the overnight rain it proved to be great fun and another hail storm added to the excitement. An excellent day; the children were great company and are now counting the minutes until dinner.
