Two former school team mates were reunited at the recent opening of the new Fylde RFC clubhouse. Jimmy Armfield and Malcolm Phillips played rugby alongside each other during their time at Arnold, before Malcolm went on to captain England at rugby, and Jimmy to captain the national football side.
Malcolm was at the club to unveil the commemorative plaque along with Arnold parent Bill Beaumont, while Jimmy was there in his role as High Sheriff of Lancashire.
