If you have not already registered your interest in the Entrance Examination for Year 7 in September 2009, please contact Mr Colin White, directoradmissions@arnoldschool.com 01253 336256.
The Entrance Examination will be held on 17th January 2009 and will commence at 8.45am and end at 2.00pm; candidates should report to the Reception Desk in the Senior School foyer. The Examination consists of the following elements: English, Mathematics and Non Verbal Reasoning. Full details are available on request but it is sufficient to say at this time that we will make the day as enjoyable and free of stress as possible, and that the tests are designed to ascertain a child's intellectual capabilities. The test papers, in style and content, are in line with KS2 SATs examinations and require no special preparation; however, past papers can be made available to you if you wish.
We also provide Scholarships and Assisted Places for entry to year 7. Scholarships are open to children who demonstrate excellence in their academic studies or in some other aspect of the curriculum such as Art and Design, Music, or Physical Education & Games. Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination and no further tests are required. Assisted Places provide a varying degree of financial support to pupils who satisfy the entry requirements for the Senior School but who can not accept a place for financial reasons.
Further details are available from Laura Rogers. She can be contacted on 01253 346391 or by email on lrogers@arnoldschool.com
