Fringe on top
Once again, our Drama department is off to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
First off, In Yer Space presents Skirmishes by Catherine Hayes. It is a tale of two sisters - one who has stayed at home to look after her dying mother and one who has begrudgingly returned out of a sense of duty. Long-standing resentments pour out with bitterness and black humour.
A Demarco Rocket Production playing from August 6th-11th, 14:40 (1 hr 15 Min) £8.50 (£6.50)
Arnold Drama then presents A Bridge to the Stars written by Henning Mankell and adapted for the stage by John Retallack. Eleven-year-old Joel forms a secret society and invites newcomer Rolf to join. But Rolf believes a secret society must create fear... “a committed, well realised and beautifully executed production.” (Colin Bradie, Promote-YT, Scotland.)
A Demarco Rocket Production from August 13th-18th, 14:00 (50 min) £6.50 (£5)
And finally In Yer Space presents Cold Comfort by Owen MacCafferty. An Irish labourer living in London returns home to Belfast to have a last, drunken “conversation” with his recently dead father. “An angry requiem soaked in whiskey...a shattering portrait of self-inflicted pain.” (Sunday Times)
A Demarco Rocket Production August 20th-25th, 16:50 (45 min) £8.50 (£6.50)
