Economics

Head of Department: Mrs S Donald

If you believe the saying that 'money makes the world go around' then studying Economics is a very useful asset. It is a social science and therefore spans the divide between the Arts and Sciences.

Economics is something that we come across in our everyday lives and as such can be very interesting. It affects so much of what we do. As a subject that can be studied at both GCSE and A level, Economics provides a good basis for a variety of careers.

It is not often that pupils can study a subject that is mentioned in the media every day, and that has so much relevance to modern living.

As Marty Allen once said, "A study of economics usually reveals that the best time to buy anything was last year."
