Make it!

The Design Centre workshop is usually open most activity periods and after school until 5 pm. This time is available in the first instance for pupils to catch up with their lesson time projects if they have been absent from school or missed a lesson because of music or sporting activities.

Pupils may also make use of the facilities to make projects of their own design using scrap materials or buying stock material taking advantage of our lower bulk bought rates. You must provide any unusual items yourselves. What is also needed is a sense of reality so that your projects are attainable. A vague idea that uses up and wastes materials is undesirable.

Staff are available to help pupils but projects can only be started if a clear plan of intent is shown. This may involve a dimensioned drawing or a circuit diagram of what they intend to make.
There are many books and magazines to give pupils an idea of possible projects. The emphasis is on producing quality products and staff will help you to gain new skills.
