David was educated in his home town of Shaw near Manchester and started playing the piano at the age of 5. Upon leaving primary school he was awarded a place at Chetham’s School Of Music in Manchester where he studied the piano for 7 years with Peter Lawson and other visiting piano professors.
He furthered his musical career at the Birmingham Conservatoire where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Music and a further Post Graduate Degree in Music Performance specialising in Contemporary American Compositions. David has performed both as soloist and ensemble pianist with numerous orchestras and chamber groups as well as premiering and recording works with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. He has also worked with and performed alongside a number of well know composers, conductors and instrumentalists and has worked as a freelance pianist and accompanist for some years.
Following a successful and fruitful period of teaching at Crompton House School in Oldham, David joined Arnold in September 2010 where he works as a full time class teacher and works with the numerous musical groups and individuals. He balances his musical commitments with being a proud new Father, an avid Manchester United supporter and his passion for animals and conservation.
