Since his arrival Mr Bruce has been fully involved in extra-curricular activities, and is often away with the Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions. He can also be seen in the sports hall on a regular basis where he runs the Badminton Club with Mr Ward. As a County player it is a sport that he knows well. A very good tennis player and a keen cricketer, as a mathematician he can always be relied upon to know the score. Mr Bruce is a former pupil of Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby.
