Burns Night Supper 2006
Our evening to celebrate the life and genius of the Scottish bard, Rabbie Burns.
A truly Scottish fare was enjoyed, as we listened to Blackpool’s town crier, Mr Barry McQueen, address the haggis and toast Burns’ immortal memory. Guests soon became aware of Mr McQueens many talents; not only did he pipe in the haggis but also sang and played his guitar to the Star o’ Rabbie Burns!
Arnold parent, Mr Peter Worthington, proposed an excellent toast to the lassies and Mrs Angela Mills, our Vice Chairman, responded in a fine Scotish accent.
The evening continued with Scottish dancing to the Old School Band and concluded with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne at 12.30am.
