Goodbye and thank you
It is the time of year when we say our farewells. At the end of this week we will say goodbye and good luck to our U6 students as they leave us for their study leave and for the public examinations. Some have been with us for the two years of the sixth form and others have been with us since Year 7. This year we will also say goodbye to several who have been with us since starting in the Kindergarten. These "lifers" and all the other leavers have given a great deal to Arnold life and we wish them well.
The process of marking their departure began this week when we held the traditional barbecue for U6 leavers and their families. In warm sunshine it was a lovely evening; there are some pictures elsewhere on the website if you want to get a taste of what went on.
On Thursday we hold the more formal proceedings of the Celebration Evening. Lord Carey will give away the prizes and there should be much to entertain students and guests. Experience tells us that this is the event that means most to our leavers and I hope they have a wonderful time with their friends, families and teachers before the serious business of examinations.
Fingers crossed for good weather on Thursday, not just for Celebration Evening but also for Sports Day, which will be held at Stanley Park in the afternoon. Do join us if you can.
Kind regards
Barry Hughes
