June 12th
We are rapidly approaching the close of term when we will see a number of events to celebrate the end of the school year. May I particularly draw your attention to the South Shore Community Fun Day this Sunday and to the Summer Exhibition on 18th June; it would be good to see you on either or both occasions.
You will also be especially welcome at the Junior Concert on 3rd July and at the Summer Concert on the following evening; both promise to be super occasions. Full details of all events are on the calendar section of the website.
At yesterday's regional HMC meeting I heard an interesting and useful presentation from a representative of Childnet, an organisation set up to help children use the internet safely. Whilst many parents will be very confident about this, some may not and a visit to Childnet's website could prove instructive.
Like all schools, from time to time we find that children use electronic forms of communication like the internet and text messaging irresponsibly. Whilst we have a robust approach to cyber bullying - it is included in our PSHE programme - it might still be helpful to parents to let them know of the support available through Childnet so that they can be better equipped to deal with the various associated issues that might arise. Their website is at http://www.childnet-int.org/
Kind regards
