June 2nd
The pupils came back from half term in good form today; the better weather seems to have outweighed the thought of impending school examinations!
With exams in mind it is likely that all pupils will be asked to spend time revising as their homework task. I have asked my colleagues to ensure that the pupils - especially the younger ones - know what sensible revision entails and the childen should be well prepared to make good use of their time. If you have any concerns about revision or study skills do not hesitate to contact us.
Our membership of UCST became official on 1st June and we continue to work closely with the Trust, in particular to ensure that the new ICT infrastructure and associated staff training are in place for September. More news in due course.
It is two years since we introduced the new girls' uniform and it has been a resounding success. The girls look a great deal smarter and are taking a much greater pride in their appearance. However, it is obvious that some girls have outgrown their kilts and so I would be grateful if parents would ensure that a new skirt is purchased if appropriate. Please would parents of the few girls in Year 9 who have yet to change to the new style note that the girls will all be expected to be in the new uniform from the start of Year 10.
Kind regards
Barry Hughes
