The U6 Leavers' Celebration Evening was a really enjoyable event and I would like to thank all those parents and friends that helped celebrate the achievements of our students. The rain held off just long enough for us all to enjoy the open air reception and the formal part of the evening seemed to fly past as we enjoyed listening to our Chief Guest, Peter Thomson. Mr McKeown's tribute to the Class of 2008 was also a major highlight of the evening and a fitting send off for this nice group of young people. We wish them well.
I was delighted to see today that the contractors had arrived early at the Junior School and have quickly started work on the new Kindergarten play area. If all goes to plan the children will return to a huge improvement on the present facilities and just at the right time of the year - surely the sunshine will return?
Whilst I hesitate to mention it as we have been let down so many times by the operator, we have been told recently that the 'phone mast will be decomissioned soon. Fingers crossed!
Although virtually every pupil in the Senior School will have examination revision to get on with, I hope that you can find some time together as families and have a good half term break.
Kind regards
Barry Hughes
