May 11th
Many congratulations to all those pupils, parents, staff and friends that either took part in today's Blackpool 10K Fun Run or helped in any way.
The Chairman of the School Council, Prateek Akhoury of the L6th, did a good job in galvanising support and blessed with beautiful weather the event attracted many, many Arnoldians. The Mayor, Councillor Robert Wynne, was also very pleased that Arnold was able to host his mini marathon for younger runners later in the day.
The very hot weather seems set to last and so girls in the new style uniform will now be permitted to wear knee socks rather than tights. Please would parents ensure that socks are the regulation type available only from the School Shop. The girls have been reminded that socks must not extend over the knee and that kilts should be knee length.
May I draw your attention to the Principal's Debate on Friday evening? More details are elsewhere on the website but it would be good to have as much support as possible for what is always an enjoyable event.
Saturday 17th May will see the Junior School Open Morning. Please don't hesitate to come along if you have a younger child and feel free to invite friends to join you.
Our Year 11 and L6th Form students begin their study leave this week. Good luck to them and they are encouraged to come in to school to see their teachers should they need any help with revision.
Kind regards
Barry Hughes
