A busy weekend
It has been a busy weekend. On Saturday we held the annual 11+ Entrance Examination and were delighted to meet so many able and enthusiastic youngsters. Whilst a large number of children came from our own Junior School, as ever, many different schools were represented. It was also good to see larger than usual numbers from the Preston schools. When the event was over we reflected on the fact that we had met some really nice children, who managed to impress us all with their positive attitude and good behaviour.
Saturday also saw a "first" for us when we offered visiting parents the chance to take part in some typical lessons. The moms and dads got a good insight into what it is like to be an Arnold pupil and they seemed to enjoy using ActivExpression and some of the other new technology we have installed this year.
I shall be away at the UCST residential conference in York at the end of the week. It is always good to be able to hear about developments at other schools and to share ideas; more news next week.
Best wishes
Barry Hughes
