Bring me no more reports; let them fly all.

I know it is an occupational hazard, but as I am currently seemingly knee-deep in end of term reports, this quotation from Shakespeare's Macbeth seems particularly appropriate. However, whatever my personal trials, school life must go on and I have just returned from a wonderful Carol Service led by Rev. O' Brien from Holy Trinity Church in South Shore.  The Memorial Hall was packed with pupils, parents and friends who joined in the singing with seasonal gusto - and enjoyed mince pies and more carols afterwards. From my exalted position at the front of the hall I was able to enjoy and fully appreciate our wonderful choir, and able to see what a lot of work our Director of Music does to bring the very best out of them when they are performing. Well done to them all and bon voyage to the girls for their forthcoming trip to Poland.

Every year my resolution is to get fit and this time I will have no excuse as one of our parents has challenged/invited me to run the 10K Fun Run with him next May. Your support will make me too embarrassed to wriggle out of it, so let me know if you would like to sponsor me.

We approach the end of term in very good spirits and no doubt the coming week will fly past and we will all soon start our Christmas break.  Do have a restful and happy holiday when the time comes.

Kind regards

Barry Hughes
