Half term news
In the next few weeks we have two major musical events, which I strongly recommend. The Evening of Swing is on Friday 12th March and the choral concert, Haydn's Nelson Mass, will be held on Thursday 25th March - do attend these events if you can as I suspect they will be of the usual very high quality. Tickets can be ordered from Reception in the Senior School or from Kathryn Holt in the General Office.
In assembly today I emphasised how important it is for pupils to prepare thoroughly for examinations and I strongly encouraged the U6 to sit General Studies this summer. Although it is optional, the news in the media about the increasing demand for university places might mean that the extra UCAS points that could be gained could make all the difference to an application. As ever, parents should not hesitate to consult staff for guidance.
After half term we welcome Mrs Sue Taylor to the senior school art department. Although Mr Stuart will be staying with us for a little longer, he will work in a part time capacity and Mrs Taylor will be helping us to cover for Mrs Caunce during her maternity leave. Mrs Pailing also remains unwell and Mr Draper will be with us for a little longer as she gets back to full health.
As we end this half of term the Geographers are off to a snow bound New York; we wish them a safe, happy and productive trip.
