On Thursday 6th November, three old soldiers from the BLESMA home on Lytham Road, visited our Year 6 pupils to talk about their experiences during the 2nd World War.
At present the boys and girls are studying the 20th Century in their history lessons and to hear first hand experiences from men who fought during the war was a memorable occasion for our children. The three three gentlemen were only too pleased to talk to the children, to remind them of how horrible war is and how we should all do our best to live in peace.
We would like to say a big thank you to our visitors. As we are close to Remembrance Day, 6 South delivered an assembly setting out its origins and the reasons why we are all wearing poppies at this time of year.
