April Luncheon
Our speaker in April was Martin Cooper on the sobering topic of “Personal Safety for Women”. He told us how, as a police officer, he was beaten up severely which led to him thinking about how to prevent violent crime. As the years have passed he has developed this initial interest into an area of expertise and he now trains both members of the public and police officers in safety awareness and self defence.
His talk to us was both relevant and interesting whilst his 3Ds; detect, deter and defend were a useful mantra for all to know, helping us all to avoid dangerous situations.
