The Fun Run
Spring sees the annual Blackpool 10k Fun Run in aid of the Brian House Hospice appeal and normall y around a quarter of the Senior School either run or spend the day helping to make sure that everything goes smoothly. We are understandably very proud of all those young people that take part and grateful to the many parents who help too, not least by sponsoring the runners.
Millennium Volunteers
Working to help others is an important part of what we do and the majority of the 6th Form pupils undertake community service in one form or another leading to the Millennium Volunteer Award. Over the years many have undertaken challenging tasks out of school, in particular volunteering at Brian House - the childrens' hospice - and these young people have some particularly touching stories to tell. Others have learnt sign language and now visit the Deaf Resource Centre, whilst others raise funds and work in charity shops. Clearly, Arnold pupils have made a big difference to the lives of many people - and in turn Arnold has made its mark on the lives and outlook of those pupils.
Village Aid
We were all delighted that Mr Lee was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his work with Buigiri in Tanzania, the village at the focus of the Village Aid project.
