Coffee Morning & AGM 2011
The coffee morning and AGM was held at School on Wednesday 5th October 2011 between 10am and 12 noon. Members were able to attend and register for the season ahead. Further information was available from our booking secretary, Debbie (telephone 01995 679379).
Speakers
The season begins on Wednesday 18th November with a Fashion Show by JR Taylor. In December, we are to be joined by the Headmaster and entertained by pupils from the Arnold Choir. In 2012, our speakers will be Ken Ward from the Salvation Army, Helen Slater, who was a nanny to the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia, and Jude Rothwell, the Marketing and PR Co-ordinator for Blackpool Zoo. Our last speaker will be our own Lt Colonel Rosie Stone. The final lunch in May will be a celebration of 35 years of Arnold Ladies' Luncheon Club.
We had a great selection of speakers last season including Jimmy Armfield CBE, David Stuttard & Flt Lt Andrew Nickson from Support St Dunstan's and 177 Squadron ATC respectively who talked about "MyUbique" ably supported by Air Cadets and Arnold pupils, Sgt Mark Atkins and Cpl Charlotte Lane. Simon Clarke came at short notice from Northern Rail and showed us his grandfather's engravings, Marilyn Read, a Holistic Practitioner and Brian Clark who spoke about his wartime experiences.
Details of speakers and a menu for each month can be found below.
Outings
The club has traditionally enjoyed excursions to stately homes and places of interest. In past outings we have enjoyed a trip to Manchester for the Christmas market and in summer we had a lovely time visiting Port Sunlight with a quick stop at Cheshire Oaks on the way back. Both outings were very much enjoyed and details of this year's trips to Arley Hall on Wednesday 7th December are posted below.
