Year 2 at Dunham Massey
On Tuesday May 9th, Year 2 enjoyed an excellent visit to Dunham Massey Hall. They experienced life as ‘below stairs’ servants and became the housemaids and footmen of Lord and Lady Stamford for the day. They were able to make bread, cheese and butter, all of which they ate and were delicious. They also made soap and lavender bags, as well as cleaning the silver, making the beds, folding the laundry and serving tea to Lady Stamford.
It was a busy and enjoyable day which enabled the children to broaden their knowledge of life in Victorian times and contributed to their topic on Houses and Homes.
