Mr Coyne came to Arnold having previously taught in Preston, Peterborough, Blackburn, Norfolk and the Middle East. He initially joined the staff as a Year 4 teacher with an interest in computers. This interest led to the development of the new Junior School ICT Centre and the appointment of Mr Coyne to the position of full-time ICT teacher. In this role he has been responsible for teaching ICT to all pupils throughout the school. He has also developed and monitored the installation of the school network, Promethean whiteboards, wireless technology, computerised report writing, an ICT Award Scheme and many other exciting developments.
Mr Coyne runs regular ICT training days for staff from 40 other schools across the North West as part of Arnold Junior School's commitment to the Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS). He has recently taken on the role of Subject Manager for Design Technology, which sees the welcome return of cookery to the junior curriculum.
Mr Coyne will be Form Teacher to 5C for the new academic year, 2010-11.
Mr Coyne has three children, all of whom attend or attended the school. He has been actively involved in organising fieldwork and skiing trips and regularly runs cross country, computer and Internet clubs.
