UCSF invests £6 million in Arnold's development
The United Church Schools Foundation (UCSF) has appropriated over £6 million towards the development of the school over the next three years. This commitment represents the largest and most significant investment in Arnold's history.
The first phase of this exciting programme will commence in June and will be completed by September 2011. It will see the creation of a new Sixth Form Centre and dining facility in the current Design Centre. The Architect's plans for this phase of the project will be on display in the senior school reception later this week if you would like to see them in more detail.
The subsequent phases of the development will see the creation of:
* a state of the art learning resource centre.
* new modern classrooms.
* a remodelled entrance and reception area.
* accommodation to facilitate the return of boarding to our community.
* a new administrative hub.
There will also be a major refurbishment that will improve the aesthetic appearance of the site.
We shall now commence a programme of consultation within the community and with local authorities leading to the formal application of planning consents. The longer term strategic direction of the school will also be given more detailed and thorough consideration in the light of this UCSF funding commitment and we intend to communicate this to you in further detail this autumn.
I look forward to returning to school in September 2011 to some new modern facilities. We can now also look forward to the prospect of the sustained strategic development of our whole school over the coming years.
Best wishes
Jim Keefe, Headmaster
